This summer, we shared the results of a survey we conducted in conjunction with the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO). Among other topics, we surveyed state leaders in 29 states around opportunities for teacher leadership and looked at those responses in conjunction with teacher responses on the same subject in the Teacher Follow-Up Survey, part of the Schools and Staffing Study administered by the National Center for Education Statistics.
In the following infographic, we've compiled what we learned about perceptions from both state leaders and teachers around existing opportunities for teacher leadership, as well as trends in PD spending and offerings.
In short, empowering teacher leadership is increasingly important for both groups, but there is a large opportunity to provide more targeted professional development to foster great leaders. Read on to learn more about the findings and how BloomBoard can help teachers become leaders, become better leaders, and collaborate with other leaders.
